Jamie Roberts test drives Bond's Aston Martin DBS

back

Licensed to thrill…

To tie in with the launch of the 22nd James Bond film, ‘Quantum of Solace’, TSM player Jamie Roberts was fortunate enough to test drive the film’s Aston Martin DBS on behalf of Stratstone Cardiff. The Cardiff Blues player who has rocketed his name onto the international stage, being picked for Wales’ rugby autumn internationals next month, became Bond for the day taking to the wheel for a feature in Cardiff Life.

Described as ‘the athlete in the dinner suit’, the V12 6.0 litre engine came to our attention in Bond’s last film ‘Casino Royale’ and despite not reaching the car’s maximum speed of 191 mph, Jamie roared around the streets of Cardiff before ascending on the stunning St David’s Hotel in Cardiff Bay for a stylish photoshoot.

Talking about his test drive, Jamie said: “Wow, what an awesome experience. This is definitely the nicest car I’ll ever drive. We got up to 70 on the link road but it felt like 30 and of course I drove with the window down to hear the roar!”

Look out for the full feature in next month’s Cardiff Life. www.cardifflifemag.co.uk
