Black’s career has stemmed over 12 years, since joining the English side Wasps at the tender age of 16, his career has gone from strength to strength.

Last season Black celebrated becoming the first player in Celtic League History to reach 100 appearances, there was no better way to celebrate than a clash with rvals Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium.

Having previously played for London Wasps, Bedford, Sale Sharks and England Under 21, Black joined Ebbw Vale in 2001 before signing for the Newport Gwent Dragons under the leadership of Mike Ruddock. He is currently playing his fifth season for the Dragons and has scored over 20 tries to date.

In 2007 against the Cardiff Blues at the Arms Park, Black became the first player to win 100 caps for the Newport Gwent Dragons.

Black continues to be an influential player on the pitch, he is a strong and solid scrummager, his try-scoring ability makes him a popular and well respected player at Rodney Parade.
