Richard Parks, a back row forward currently plays for Newport Gwent Dragons. Beginning his Career with the Welsh Youth, Parks moved overseas to South Africa playing for Natal Province U19’s before moving back to his Newport to take up a place with Newport RFC.

Parks’ career was put on hold when he suffered a serious spine injury leaving him out of action for a year. However after a short spell with Carephilly RFC, Parks signed with Pontypridd RFC in 1999.

Parks enjoyed an international career in 2001/2002 under the reign of then Wales coach Steve Hansen. Earning himself four caps, Park made his senior debut on the South Africa Tour in 2002. He was chosen for the 2003 RBS Six Nation Championships and later that year played two games in the warm up for the 2003 Rugby World Cup.

For the 2003/2004 season Parks joined the newly formed Celtic Warriors; however when they disbanded Parks signed with the Leed Tykes and in 2006 signed up for a season with Perpignan.

In 2007 Parks signed deal with the Newport Gwent Dragons which will seem him remain with the club until 2009.
