Jamie Roberts began his career playing for Rumney and for Wales Schools at all levels between U16 and U21. Roberts was also part of the squad who helped Wales win the RBS Six Nation Championships 2008 and Grand Slam, it was against Scotland where the 23 year old made his first senior debut gaining his first welsh cap. He has just been picked for Gatland's Invesco Perpetual series 2008.

Having previously been a Cardiff Blues member, he made an impressive start to his first season for Cardiff Blues, scoring an impressive five tries in 11 games. In 2007 Cardiff Rugby Supporters Club named Roberts player of the season.

He toured with the Welsh team to South Africa this summer where scored his first try for Wales in a defeat against the springboks.

Jamie has won 3 caps for Wales as a full back and centre. He is currently combining a professional sporting career with studying for a five-year medical degree at the University of Wales Cardiff.
